Plek Tips: A better blocks view because of 4 simple changes
Next week Thursday, August 24th, between 4 and 5 PM we are releasing an updated version of Plek. Because we built an improvement that many users will immediately notice on their homepage, we are already letting you know what is going to change.
Lately we have been paying a lot of attention to developing a better timeline view of the homepage. Now the time has come for us to focus on the blocks view. The goal of the improvements we implemented is to create a dashboard that makes it easy for users to share news and get updates about the latest developments. We did this by visually increasing the distinction between read and unread messages and by applying a clear logic. And of course, as always, we kept it simple!
What is new?
1. The notification bubbles at the top right of the blocks instantly show you which messages you have not read yet.
2. When you open a message, you stay on the same page. The message is displayed in a layer over the page, as shown below. This makes reading a message feel calmer.
3. The overview is more clear and calm because it is easier to distinguish between read and unread messages: read messages collapse.
4. Featured messages have the same style in block view as in timeline view. This is more consistent.
