Plek Privacy Policy
At Plek, we are committed to treat any information that relates to you very carefully and with restraint. We will never share any information you provided to Plek with a third party without your prior consent.
Privacy, your data
Protection of the privacy and security of your information is a fundamental aspect of everything we do and part of our business processes, our Software Development Life Cycle and our training program for employees.
We do our best to safeguard your data, make it available to you and, ultimately, give you control of your data.
When you ask us what records we keep that relate to you, we will provide an overview of this data within five workdays, after establishing your identity. In case you ask us to remove, correct, shield or transfer personal data, we will do so within a month, or earlier if that seems reasonable. If your data is within the Plek account of an organization, any requests will have to go through established channels of that organization.
No access is no access
We cannot access information on your platform that is based on Plek, unless we get access to your platform as a user, e.g. as editor, admin or tester. We will always agree with you what kind of access we should have to your platform, if any.
When you want certain information on your Plek platform, for example a confidential document or information in a hidden group, to be accessible only for specific users or members of a group, other people in your organization cannot access that information (nor can we) and we will do everything to protect the security of that information.
Your organization
Our clients use Plek as a platform for community platforms, social intranets, extranets and websites. Although we promote our view on privacy and information security, Plek cannot control how our clients use or disseminate user information. Please check the privacy policy of the organization(s) you belong to or whose platform you use for more information.
Information security
We develop and maintain the Plek platform, and your platform based on Plek, with strict security controls, based on our Information Security Policy. These controls safeguard the privacy, confidentiality, security, availability and integrity of your data. Our Information Security Management System is audited by an independent auditor at least annually. The Plek platform is undergoing periodic security penetration tests by white hat hackers. We will inform our clients of any major incidents or breaches of security.
We require commitment to our principles for information security from our suppliers and maintain control of the full chain of information storage, processing and transport.
Usage data and cookies
When you use Plek online services, our servers automatically record certain information. These server logs may include information such as your web requests, your interaction with a service, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your account. Information supplied by cookies can help us analyze the profile of our visitors and provide you with a better user experience.
Please note that during your use of Plek services you may notice some cookies that are not related to Plek or Plek’s contractors. When you visit a page with content embedded from, for example, YouTube or Flickr, you may be presented with cookies from these websites. Plek does not control the dissemination of these cookies. You should check the third-party websites for more information about these.
Plek may work with contractors or services to measure, research or improve our services. These contractors may gather information regarding visitors to Plek websites on our behalf using cookies, log-file data and code that is embedded on our websites. All third parties are strictly required to not share this information with any other third party and to not to use this information for their own business or other purposes.
Demo requests
When you request a demo for Plek, we may use your contact information to send you information, contact you and keep you updated on Plek, until you let us know you want to unsubscribe from our updates. We may share your demo request contact information with trusted third parties for the purpose of sales or marketing of our services, and, if so, we will require these parties to not use your information for any other purpose and to not share your information with any other third parties.
